Growing up it was about speaking with a foreign accent disguised as correct diction aka finding the right pronunciation. So, we watched a lot of Hollywood movies, a lot of foreign news just to get our accents ‘up’– that was the ‘in’ thing. Fast forward, that was juvenile. According to a 2014 CNN Poll, Nigerian accent was voted the 6th sexiest accent out of 7,000 accents. That’s right. Nigerian accent is cool. Peter and Paul Okoye’s accents are cool. Don Jazzy’s accent is cool.
Here are 10 Nigerian celebrities with the most ridiculous accents:
Wizzy. Ayo Balogun. Star Boy. He sure finds his accent scattered in the galaxies.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When on the Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha god in America, why not dig for a strange accent, Mutumina?
Soundcity VJ lives her workplace’s name– such an embodiment of sounds. Well guys…
First time I heard Obi Mikel speak was shortly after he joined Lyn Oslo, Norway. The shock. That the British + American + Nigerian accent could be bought in Norway? Wonders.
With the Nollywood actress’ accent, “Itz Ova.” Poko baby!
See, you can find absolutely anything in Lagos. For the Rhythm FM OAP and Vlogger, she found a catalogue of accents. Well, she’s an OAP, so? Standard.
This accent is either from Cross River or Italy, can’t say.
Tekno’s video reacting to the Skiibii death stunt is the most hilarious thing involving a Nigerian celeb you will see in recent times. Some people lose their ‘foné’ when they are pissed off; but the Igbo Chris Brown, Augustine Kelechi found a combination of accents– accents possibly picked up on his Holiday? For an artiste whose ‘Nigerianess’ seeps through in ‘Anything’, ‘Dance’, this was a sight.
Northside Entertainment Inc ‘Dancehall Godmother’, as she likes to call herself, was born Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan in Benin city, and spent most of years in ‘B side/Benghazi’. So, it’s sort of a wonder how she came about her accent that journeys from Midwest America to South London and then taxis in Nine Mile, Jamaica– with patois mixing the sounds in a bowl of confusion. Talented, she is as a musician. But madam, wey you for fin’ this mishmash of accents?
Oh yeah? Ms. Ikponmwenosa responding to the Wale Gates-situation is hilarious. Accent(s) going Jack and Jill tumbling down a hill.
Can I get Jay-Z? He’s unavailable at the moment. Can you ‘manage’ Vector?
