Three students of the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa stripped naked to protest high tuition fees imposed on them by the school management.
The ‘Naked Protesters’ stripped themselves and confronted the police for brutally shooting at them during their protest marches against the high school fees.
In the footage, the protesting students were heard saying: “It’s for free education. Stop shooting us‚ comrades. Cease fire‚ comrades. It’s for free education.”
In the past few weeks, students of the university have engaged in protests which disrupted classes on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
The unrest began when the education board in that country announced on September 19 that fees will continue to rise with an 8% cap in 2017.
Since then, students from different universities have been staging protest marches while some schools have been forced to close down with lectures disrupted.
