Arsenal fans were this week given the fright of their lives after the Chile national team referred to Gunners talisman Alexis Sanchez as a Bayern Munich player in their official squad listing.
Sanchez has been the subject of reports strongly linking him with a move away from the Emirates this summer and on Tuesday, there were reports that his agent was in Germany to speak with Bayern officials.
Alexis will spend the summer in Russia with his international team-mates, with Chile is set to play in the Confederations Cup.
And the gaffe came when the squad list was posted on their Football Association’s Twitter feed.
The 28-year-old’s name was listed next to the Bayern badge.
Reports suggest Bayern Munich are lining up a mammoth offer for Chile forward at the end of the season, with the Gunners preparing to fend off the Bundesliga giants ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s understood the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing Sanchez but it appears Chile believe their man could be on his way to the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.
