Enugu Rangers have broken their 32-year-old jinx of not winning the league title.
The team on Sunday defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 4-0, the last day of the season, to lift the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League title.
A hat trick of goals by Chisom Egbuchulam and another goal by Osas Okoro gave them the three points
The Flying Antelopes as team is fondly called amassed a total of 63 points from 38 games to end the season first among other 19 competing clubs.
The victory also means that Enugu Rangers have now won the league title seven times, equalling a record set by former champions Enyimba.
Rangers have won the cup in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984 and 2016.
