Actor Emeka Ike took no prisoners during his recent interview with TVC Entertainment where he talked about his takeover of the Acting Guild of Nigerian (AGN) as President.
The Nollywood lover boy also spoke about the supposed crisis that engulfed the AGN prior to his taking over from Ibinabo Fiberesima as the head of the actor’s body.
According to him, Ibinabo Fiberesima was more interested in putting the wrong people in power like Segun Arinze, who Emeka Ike says does not even have a B.Sc and is not fit to be in power in AGN. He further talked about the fact that things were being done in the wrong way and with the wrong procedure.
He however said there is no more crisis in AGN. “A court of competent jurisdiction has resolved the issue, has told the parties that are wrong, ‘you are fired,” he said.
Making reference to Ibinabo Fiberesima’s meetings with Goodluck Jonathan during the latter’s administration, Emeka Ike said, “AGN is not running a prostitution” cartel.
He reiterated that it was not the industry that met former President Goodluck Jonathan during his tenure. According to him, the then president was met by a group of powerful people that says “Actors Guild of Nigeria na my own.”
He says a few people wanted to take the Actors Guild of Nigeria as their own.
Talking about how Nollywood has always been making good movies like “Igodo” and “Violation”, Emeka Ike said, Kunle Afolayan is making a fantastic movie because he was given 200 million Naira. “If you give a daunce that money, he can get the best producer. So it’s not a fantastic thing, you are not making me feel oppressed,” he said.
He further said that he was supposed to play the lead role in the movie “Violated,” which starred Genevieve Nnaji and Richard Mofe Damijo.
