Suspected members of the terror sect, Boko Haram, attacked Maiduguri, Borno State in the early hours of Friday. The bomb blasts occurred in a mosque as worshippers were observing their early morning prayers, killing many and injuring others.
According to witnesses, the twin bomb blasts occurred at about 5 am at a mosque in Jiddari Polo area, Maiduguri, Borno State.
An eyewitness, spokesman for a local Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), who spoke with Premium Times, the blasts rocked the area close of the Federal High Court complex, adding that the number of casualties was unknown.
However, a senior health official at the scene confirmed that 6 persons were killed in the blast and 17 others were injured and had been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
