According to recent reports, four suspected members of the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram, have been arrested while attempting to attack Damaturu, Yobe State.
The incident occurred as the four Boko Haram suspects attempted to gain entrance into the Pompomari Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) Camp in Damaturu, Yobe State.
The Executive Secretary, Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Musa Jidawa, confirmed the arrest on Sunday while speaking with newsmen
Jidawa said that two of the suspects disguised themselves as visitors to see relations at IDP camp but were apprehended, adding that the two others were also arrested while trying to enter the camp.
He said, “Security operatives and some IDPs screening entries and exit from the camp identified the suspects, who were later confirmed as insurgents by the IDPs from their communities.’’
“A member of his Turo Kura village identified the suspect (one of the suspects) and raised an alarm, saying he belongs to the sect and the suspect’s father, also an IDP at the camp, confirmed it, which led to his arrest,’’ he added.
