The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ogun state has nullified the election of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Buruji Kashamu and also Hon. Adekoya Adesegun, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Peoples Democratic Party and five other members of the state assembly over non-compliance of electoral law in the March 28 election.
The three- man panel headed by Justice Ebiowei Tobi while delivering the judgement on Friday, also ordered a re – run of the election in the affected areas including 122 polling units in Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency.
The court held that the election in the affected areas were marred by irregularities and malpractices.
