The Sheet can authoritatively confirm that Ondo State House of Assembly has on Monday, April 27, impeached the state deputy governor Alhaji Ali Olanusi.
Reports says that 24 out of the 26 members of the house who were present for the sitting were all in support of the impeachment
Henry Akinsoyinu, the Majority Leader, moved the motion for impeachment after he revealed that the seven impeachable offences of gross misconduct and abuse of office levelled against the Deputy Governor have been proved.
Oyebo Aladetan,the Deputy Majority Leader seconded the motion.
The Seven man panel of investigation set up by by the State Chief Judge, Olasehinde Kumuyi, chaired by Olatunji Adeniyan had earlier in the morning submitted its report to the House.
Jumoke Akindele, Speaker of the House, adopted the motion and declared the Deputy Governor impeached and removed from office.
Akindele also ordered that all the government property in possession of the Deputy Governor be handed over to the Permanent Secretary in the office of the Deputy Governor.
Gbenga Edema and Fola Olasehinde, two members of the House who were absent at the impeachment sitting are members of the opposition party, APC.
