Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki who stands trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal on allegations of false declaration of assets has failed to appear before it, as trial resumes today.
Saraki who faces a 13-count charge instituted by the Code of Conduct Bureau on his claims in his 2003 assets declaration as Governor of Kwara State, has a bench warrant issued for his arrest.
It will be recalled that the Justice Danladi Umar-led tribunal issued the warrant ordering the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase to heed to the request, as the senate president refused to obey the court summon on Friday.
The Federal Government had through a deputy director in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. M.S. Hassan, asked CCT to order Saraki’s arrest.
