According to recent report on the Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s case filed at the High Court, the judge sitting on the matter has asked to be withdrawn.
It will be recalled that Saraki had filed a motion (ex parte application) countering the Code of Conduct Bureau instituted 13-count charge bordering on false declaration of assets at both the High and Appeal courts.
According to the report, Justice R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja has remitted Senate President Bukola Saraki’s case to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, asking for reassigning to another judge.
Justice R. Mohammed, in returning the case file to the CJN on Wednesday, cited “negative reports” on the case as reason for his decision.
