Editor’s Note: Few days ago, Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose accused the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari of being one of the persons who paid a $170,000 bribe to an account linked to former U.S. Congressman Williams Jefferson, the prime culprit in the Halliburton scandal.
A screenshot of a supposed reply in form of a tweet alleged to have been tweeted from the twitter handle of Mrs Aisha Buhari has since gone viral. In the tweet, Mrs Buhari reportedly referred to the governor as a “mad dog” for his accusations.
Writer @Odogwudozilla, in his piece on his Medium page which is reproduced here, seeks to show proof that the tweet was actually photoshopped. Enjoy.
When Enough Photoshop Is Not Enough
The social media is in a frenzy over an (alleged) tweet by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari in which she “giam” to rabid dog (not my words) Fayose.
I have been led astray several times to not to be circumspect on sighting such sensational tweets.
My investigations reveal some inconsistencies:
Case 1. See that time stamp below the tweets on Tweet 1 above? They are supposed to be the same on all screenshots of the same tweet irrespective of phone. I took it with my handheld this morning. At least for everyone within same 12-hour time zone, both time and date are suppose to be the same, using the same format. If the above is a wrong assumption, then:
2. Tweet 2 above has the first two sentences in CAPs. Tweet 3 and 4 below don’t.
That’s impossible unless course you say Madam Aisha suddenly decided to do a makeover tweet (tweet 2) after she felt tweets 4 and 3 weren’t descriptive enough.
Granted that’s the case:
Jamila (“@jkffage”) who they say allegedly replied to Tweet 4 has this to say:
Some people have said Aisha’s account was hacked. I do not think so. Even a hacked account does not lose all electronic trace of the hack when the story is not about Hillary Clinton. We are not that important yet.
There are more advance methods to detect a fake picture/screenshot but why bother when mere sight gives away the scam?
This is a shoddy Photoshop job. You can bet on it.
