Confederation Of African Football Fines Nigeria Football Federation For Fans’ Misconduct

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) the sum of $5,000 for fans’ misconduct during the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad, played in June at the Kaduna stadium.

The Super Eagles defeated the Chadians 2-0 under the tutelage of Stephen Okechukwu Keshi and the fans later invaded the pitch at full time to celebrate Nigeria’s victory in the match.

In a statement released by CAF on Tuesday on their website, the decision was one of the many actions taken during the body’s disciplinary committee meeting held on September 20.

We wait to see how the NFF will respond to this and the steps that will be taken subsequently.
