The body of a 27-year-old mother was recovered inside a deep freezer alongside those of her two daughters.
Danish cops said on Monday that they found the bodies of a slain Syrian refugee and her two young daughters in a freezer in their apartment in the southern Danish town of Aabenraa.
It was a concerned relative who had not heard from them for days that made the shocking discovery.
According to reports, the two girls were aged seven and nine-year-old respectively and it was learnt that the Syrian family arrived in Denmark in 2015 and were granted refugee status.
The police said they have launched a manhunt to track down the father of the deceased girls for possible investigation and prosecution.
Confirming the incident in a statement, a local police officer said: “Police went into the apartment and found the three bodies in a freezer.
“The victim’s husband and the father of the two children was not in the apartment, and we are actively searching for him.”
