Another day, another set of reports from Football Leaks.

United spent £89 million on Pogba, while the player signed a five-year contract to stay at Old Trafford.

Its now come to light that Pogba’s transfer triggered a FIFA investigation.

Focus on super-agent Mino Raiola

To be clear there’s no suggestion that Pogba himself broke any FIFA rules.

Rather, the focus of FIFA’s investigation focused on the player’s agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola was put under the microscope for his earnings in the Pogba deal.

The former pizza boy took money represented all three parties in the transaction: Pogba, Man United and Juventus.

The Times detailed how much Raiola made from the deal:

Raiola was paid £41.4 million for the transfer, and represented all three parties in the deal – Pogba, United and Juventus, who paid him €27 million (about £24 million) with United paying him £16 million.

Did Raiola break any FIFA rules?

The short answer is no. However FIFA were far from happy with how Raiola operated in the Pogba deal:

Fifa’s disciplinary committee investigated whether Juventus had breached third-party ownership rules over the Italian club’s huge payment to Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, but decided it could not establish a rule violation.

The Times confirm that FIFA declared the Pogba transfer as “reproachable”.
