With the Super Eagles of Nigeria labouring to a goalless draw against Tanzania, fellow group B competitors, the Pharaohs of Egypt showed them the way to go with a 5-1 hammering of Group B weeping boys, Chad.
The Pharaohs tightened their hold on Group B leadership with a massive away win in Ndjamena while the reigning champions were held to a tame draw in Port Harcourt
Egypt showed devastating class on Sunday as they defeated Chad 5-1 in Ndjamena to strengthen their hold on the top spot in Group G.
Zamalek’s Bassem Morsy scored a hat trick for the Pharaohs as Mohamed Salah and Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ Abdel-Moneim each added while Chad scored their lone goal through Nadjim Haroun.
The seven-time champions now have six points, ahead of Nigeria with four, Tanzania with a solo point and Chad yet to pick a point.
