It took Enugu Rangers 32 years to win their next League title but you would never know it with the way the club chose to celebrate it.
With all the buzz around their Nigeria topflight triumph, many were expecting an open bus trophy tour of the Coal City, with the Club Management; perhaps the government, pulling out all the stops – to put up a befitting show.
Alas, the Flying Antelopes’ much talked about trophy parade ended in farce as the Nigeria Professional Football League champions paraded the major streets of Enugu in a worn-out open truck.
And they took to some major roads on Saturday with the aim of celebrating their triumph with their teeming fans and well-wisher – though in a bizarre manner as fans howled at the excruciating carnival.
