EXCLUSIVE: We Did Not Set Up An Impeachment Panel Against Fayose – Ekiti State Speaker [SCANNED LETTER]

Following the recent rumoured attempt to impeach the Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose by the State House of Assembly, the Speaker of the house, Hon Dele Olugbemi has debunked the story as unfounded, crude and baseless.

It was earlier rumoured that the Ekiti House of Assembly directed the Chief Judge, Ayodeji Daramola to set up panel that will carry out the impeachment proceedings against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The resolution for impeachment of the governor was allegedly signed by the speaker and two other members of the “G19”, the 19 majority members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a letter directed the Chief Judge of Ekiti State Judiciary, on Thursday, April 9, 2015, titled Impersonation of the office of the speaker of Ekiti state House of Assembly, Hon. Dele Olugbemi reiterated that the letter did not emanate from the Ekiti State House of Assembly.

The letter also stated in part;

“We have not written any letter to you, directing you to constitute any investigative Panel, nor is the House involved in any Impeachment Proceedings against the Executive Governor of our great State.
