The Senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has stated that the fallout between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki was self-inflicted by the porosity in the ruling All Progressive Party, APC.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji of TheSheetTV, Sani said some people in the Party were responsible for the fall out as they benefited greatly from the it.

According to Sani, the rift between the Senate President and Presidency was needless but the party could not handle it because of it porosity and emptiness.

He said: “First of all, it is normal to have disagreement between the executive and legislators. But that one that happened in 2015 was self-inflicted by the porosity and emptiness in APC as a party. Who can bring harmony between the executive and the legislature? It is the party. ”

“If you have a party with the majority in the National Assembly and it is also the party that has the control of the executive, then it is the work of the party to bring both sides together. The crisis that happened between Bukola Saraki-led National Assembly and the Presidency is needless. Needless in the sense that why should President Buhari fight Bukola Saraki and why should Bukola saraki fight Buhari when they are both holding different tiers of government. ”

“But there are some people who came in between them.  People who don’t want Bukola saraki and the best way to do it is to set him up against Buhari. At the end of it, Bukola won’t enjoy Buhari’s government. There are some people who benefited from the rift and crisis that happened between the Presidency and the National Assembly. ”

“For someone like Buhari,  a man of his age who is graciously lucky to be President at that very age. He ought to carry everybody along and then succeed in everything he wants. I don’t see anything which Buhari will bring to this National Assembly without him getting it through. ”

“If you see obstacles, them some homework is needed, what is that homework, if we had a party that could have been able to bring its members into its fold and then be able to carry along the Executives. These things wouldn’t have happened. ”
