La Liga giant, Real Madrid is set to have a boost in its squad ahead of UEFA Champions League clash with French Ligue 1 champion, Paris Saint-Germain next week.
The Rafa Benitez-side will welcome the return of Croatian midfielder, Luka Modric ahead of the encounter following his time on the sidelines after an injury.
Los Blancos’ star was forced to watch all-important Croatia’s 3-0 victory over Malta on Tuesday in the Euro 2016 qualifier, following his thigh injury.
Real Madrid issued a statement that the 30 year old Modric will undergo further tests and won’t be fit for the weekend tie with Levante in the La Liga.
However, Modric gave the assurance that he would be fit for the top-of-the-table UEFA Champions League tie with PSG while speaking with AS, saying, “I can’t play.”
“Hopefully I’ll be there to play against PSG,” Modric said.
Real Madrid currently sits atop the UEFA Champions League Group A table with 6 points with PSG, though with a superior goal-difference 1 more than the French side.
