If you are a fan of super hero films or video games like God of War and has been wondering when a Nigerian equivalent of Kratos or Thor would be made, we have great news for you! An animation startup in Nigerian, Komotion Studios has shown that Nigerians can indeed create just the exact thing you crave.

They created an exciting animated short teaser based on Sango, the Yoruba mythical god of Thunder, and man did they slay it!

It’s amazing what the team could achieve with just a $400 (N146,000) budget and 2 weeks to work. One can only imagine what they will produce given more resources and time.

Apparently, they have plans to make this into a web series or a feature length film and we can’t wait to feast our eyes on it!

Komotion Studio has this to say about what to expect from the final project:

“[It] will look at his life from birth to his mysterious disappearance. We will explore the functionality of the civilisation that existed during his time, bringing out different key lessons.

Our goal is to educate and align with the sustainable development goals while also entertaining our audience.”

It is refreshing to see young Nigerians giving the Yoruba culture such makeover and helping to push it to the global digital stage.

Lets hope they get the desired incentives to get the full project done.
