Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has reiterated his administration’s readiness to introduce compulsory hostel accommodation on campus for all female students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The governor, who announced this during an inspection of three blocks of 42 rooms’ hostel apartment under construction at the institution, expressed dismay on how female students paraded the highway in the name of living off-campus.
He vowed that he would ensure that all the hostel structures under construction were completed within three months with a view to accommodating all female students studying in the institution, urging the contractor to speed up the work.
Meanwhile, Governor Al-Makura has also promised that the collapsed federal bridge on Abubakar Burga road in Keffi Local Government Area of the state was completed in two weeks time.
Speaking during an on -the-spot assessment of the bridge, the governor stated that, “although this is a federal government road, but we have to embark on a quick fix it to ensure that the road is open to the public as soon as possible. We really sympathise with the people of this area but what we are doing will be a long term project because we are expanding the bridge to accommodate dual carriage in future.”
