A handful of women and youths took to the streets of Gariki Abuja to call for the removal of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Bank.
There has been several calls from different persons including some members of the House of Representatives following the continuous fall of the naira in the parallel market.
Although the house has been divided over whether to remove Emefiele or not, the Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, who represents Isoko Federal Constituency of Delta State, opposed the call and suggested that the apex bank’s Forex Policies should be investigated.
The protesters bore placards and a banner with an inscription #Emefielemustgo boldly written at the top.
Among reasons why they sek his removal is what the women described as ‘inability to attend to serious medical issues.”
