Bastian Schweinsteiger has informed that he does not intend to be a failure at his new club but to win laurels.
The Germany international ended his 17-year association with Bayern Munich to move to Old Trafford in a £12 million deal on Monday, arriving at the same time as Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin.
His arrival at Old Trafford reunites him with Louis Van Gaal having worked with the Dutch tactician while they were both at Bayern Munich.
With his trophy collection which includes eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB Pokals and a Champions League crown in Bavaria as well as the 2014 World Cup with Germany, Schweinsteiger insists he has not lost his hunger for trophies.
“I am very happy to be here and to play for Man United,” the 30-year-old said at his unveiling during United’s pre-season tour of the United States.
“It is a big honour. It’s a new step in my life. I want to win titles, it’s easy. Manchester United is used to that and I am too, so that’s my goal.”
