Arsenal and German star, Mesut Ozil believes he needs to be more selfish if he is to achieve his ambition of winning the Ballon d’Or.
The last six Ballor d’ Or titles have been shared among Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the account of their goal scoring prowess.
Ozil scored just five times in 32 games for Arsenal last season and has been challenged by manager Arsene Wenger to get to double figures this time around, and the former Real Madrid playmaker admits he needs to be more ruthless in front of goal if he is to gain personal recognition.
“I have to become more dangerous in front of the goal,” he said when asked about winning the individual accolade.
“I was injured for long spells last season, and scored only five in 32 competitive games. I want to improve this. To achieve it, I have to be a bit more egotistical.”
