Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has blasted those opposing his political appointments in the state. El-Rufai had words for critics who claimed to be members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but have been lashing out over his appointments.
El-Rufai addressed his detractors at a town hall meeting with Kaduna Central stakeholders at the weekend. The governor also addressed the issue of illiteracy in the state, warning that any child seen outside school will be arrested along with his/her parents.
El-Rufai stated: “No child of school age should be seen on the streets hawking during school hours, otherwise the child and parents should be arrested and prosecuted henceforth.”
On his political appointments, el-Rufai thundered: “If you are not happy with appointments, you can go and climb Kufena Mountain and fall. It was what you voted that you got because we are aware that there are people who did not vote for us; in fact, they worked against us”.
“But now they claim to be APC members and loyal to the party. We know such people. There is no way they would expect anything from us. You didn’t vote us but you want appointments. What you will get is zero. It is politics and, in whatever we do, there is politics,” he added.
