Premier League duo of John Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo, were the first set of Super Eagles invited players to have arrived in Belgium, ahead of the friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon.
Mikel Obi was not in action for Chelsea FC over the weekend as they were beaten 3-1 by Southampton at Stamford Bridge, while Ighalo’s hot form continued, as he scored his fifth league goal for Watford FC to earn a draw away at Bournemouth.
“Mikel and Odion Ighalo are the first arrivals in Belgium for our matches against DRC and Cameroon,” media officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye confirmed.
“Most of the other players will be arriving Belgium today (Monday) based on their confirmation to the coach.”
However, the six home-based players are yet to leave the country, as they are yet to sort out their visas with the embassy.
