Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has given the assurance that Manchester City star, Kelechi Iheanacho will get a National team call-up.
There has been a lot of call in the media for the inclusion of the 19 year old prodigy who has made 3 appearances for the Manchester side, scoring one goal this season.
Oliseh has however insisted that he will not rush the teen into the national team, adding that Iheanacho will soon get his Eagles invite.
“Iheanacho will get his time with the Super Eagles no doubt but we must not rush him into the squad,” Oliseh said in an interview with Complete Sports.
“He’s currently nursing an injury and he needs substantial time on the pitch as well.
“We acknowledge his talent but he still needs to prove that with the Olympic squad as well.
He also spoke on his inclusion of Arsenal’s Iwobi on the National team for the upcoming international friendlies: “Iwobi has just got the much awaited green light to feature for Nigeria and we need such talents to in the team just as Iheanacho.
“Everybody will get his chance to showcase what they can offer the team but we the coaches will invite them at the right time so they don’t perform below what we expect,” he concluded.
