It Was Tough Signing Cech- Arsene Wenger
The former Chelsea goalkeeper completed his move to the Emirates Stadium last week and his new boss has waxed lyrical about his potential impact
Cech completed his transfer to the Emirates last week, with the Gunners paying a reported €14 million fee to acquire his signature.
It was really tough signing cech.
Wenger says that “it was a very, very tough decision” to sign Cech because of the respective talents of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny, but he insists that the 33-year-old’s experience will prove invaluable.
“I have two great goalkeepers,” he told Arsenal Player. “I think Cech can make them better as well.
“He has huge experience and the fact that he has won more big trophies can strengthen the belief of the team. That can help them to develop and that’s what I expect from him.
“You always want to improve the experience level of your squad and I thought he could help us gain something on that front.
“I still think he has a huge hunger. When I saw him with Chelsea last year he was always convincing and I’m happy that we could do it. His kind of knowledge and experience can help us.”
Cech won four Premier League trophies, four FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League during his time at the Blues.
