President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of a new justice for the Supreme Court. He is Justice Amiru Sanusi.
Justice Sanusi’s elevation followed the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) to the president as the constitution requires. The appointment of Justice Sanusi now raised the number of justices of the Supreme Court to 18.
The National Judicial Council (NJC), in a statement yesterday, confirmed the appointment.
NJC’s Acting Director Information, Soji Oye, said Justice Sanusi will be sworn-in tomorrow by the Chief Justice and NJC Chairman, Mahmud Mohammed, at 11 am in the Supreme Court Complex.
