After three months of waiting and wrangling between Ife ruling houses, Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola has announced Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as the new Ooni of Ife.
This comes after the death of the former Ooni, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, Prince Ogunwusi is from the Giesi ruling house becoming the 51st Ooni of Ile-Ife.

The statement also said the kingmakers of Ife had done all the necessary pre-requisites and communicated the choice of Prince Ogunwusi to the governor’s office for approval.
Therefore, Ogunwusi takes over from Oba Sijuade, who died on July 28, 2015 in a London hospital.
