The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Aisha Alhassan collapsed at an Internally Displaced Persons’, IDPs, camp in Adamawa on Monday, September 19.
This is according to a report by ThisDay Newspaper which says the the ex-Guber aspirant in Taraba State, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’ collapsed while addressing vulnerable IDP women inside a store in the Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa.
The report claimed, Alhassan, who arrived the camp in crutches, collapsed mid-way into her speech but was quickly assisted into a chair and given a bottle of soft drint to revive her.
It was further gathered that the minister had been diagnosed with Hypoglycaemia, which is a situation where a person suffers from low sugar, a problem that creates serious weakness of the body.
But despite her state of health, Alhassan reportedly managed to explain her fact-finding mission to Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States to confirm the foreign NGOs’ allegation of violation of some girls and women at the IDPs’ camps in the North-east.
