Kidnappers Demand N25m For Release Of Rivers State Teachers

The suspected kidnappers of 3 teachers at Agba-Ndele Community Secondary School, Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State have demanded a N25 million ransom for their release.

The teachers, Joseph Dimpa, Martina Ofuru and Charity Mbajike, were abducted by unknown armed men on October 12 along with a National Youth Corps member, Obinna Duru, and a security guard, Jonathan Woforu.

According to a Daily Post report, the kidnappers of the 5 persons have demanded the ransom before their release.

Speaking on the abduction, the Paramount Ruler of Ndele Community, Eze Godwin Iransi, said, “They (abductors) have been able to call; they called one of my chiefs and they demanded a ransom of N25 million.

“I am pleading that, at least, for the sake of God and for the sake of humanity, release those persons. Two of them are women. How can you take women to God knows where?

“They took them through the Sembrero River. Are they keeping them in the creeks? Are they keeping them in the bush? Are they keeping them under what condition? They should please release them,” he pleaded.
