Following the confirmation of the nominee list sent to the Senate by Nigeria’s acting president, Yemi Osinbajo there is obviously an unresolved issue between the former and the later as regards whether or not Ibrahim Magu gets confirmed.
Magu who is the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), made the nominee list which was sent before the upper chamber for confirmation but the house seems to totally against him while Osinbajo is in support of.
Osinbajo who was represented by Kaduna State governor at the commissioning of a zonal office of the EFCC on Thursday, July 6th, 2017, said that nobody can rip Magu of his current position.
Nasir el-Rufai said:
“We have confidence in Magu to fight corruption to a standstill. He will remain the EFCC chairman as long as I remain the acting president and as long as Muhammadu Buhari remains the president.”
“For those thinking that corruption is beginning to win this war, Magu will remain their nightmare for the next two years or six years as the case may be.”
