In an attempt to lure him back to Manchester, City are willing to make Paul Pogba the highest paid player in their history this summer.
Pogba, 22, is a primary target for the former English champions as they look to fight back for their crown and have a greater impact in Europe next season.
The France International will have to make a pick from Europe’s elite if he leaves Juventus this summer as other clubs are also on the queue.
Reportedly, City are preparing an eye-watering financial package, that will eclipse current top-earner Yaya Toure’s deal.
Toure earns £220,000-per-week at the Etihad Stadium, but City will push those boundaries even further to land Pogba.
The wage package will be in addition to a hefty transfer fee, which could reach as much as £70million.
Selling Toure, as well as other big-earners, this summer would help City finance Pogba’s wages and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in Toure, but the question is whether the Italians can afford his salary.
