English team, Manchester United have suffered another team set-back with injury to this season’s signing, German midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger. Schweinsteiger joined the Red Devils from Bayern Munich at the start of the 2015/2016 season.
Louis van Gaal’s team will be without Schweinsteiger after he suffered a thigh injury and has been ruled out of Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Republic of Ireland on Thursday.
Schweinsteiger has made 13 appearances for the Old Trafford team since joining on July 13.
According to reports, the 31 year old World Cup winner sustained the injury in Germany’s final training session before Thursday’s match.
Manchester United are already without captain Wayne Rooney, who will miss England’s final two Euro 2016 qualifiers, due to an ankle injury. And, Argentine defender, Marcos Rojo who has been battling with a hamstring injury and misses Argentina’s clash against Ecuador on Thursday and Paraguay next week.
