Reports in Germany reveals that Pep Guardiola is closing in on huge transfer for Germany winger, Leroy Sane, but Schalke is waiting for a whooping £46.5million fee to be paid before sanctioning the move.
German newspaper Bild claims a deal is extremely close following weeks of negotiations between the two parties, and the move solely hinges on City saying ‘yes’ to Schalke’s price-tag.
The 20-year-old is due in Manchester for his medical after saying goodbye to his teammates, and Schalke are just waiting on City to accept their terms over the transfer fee.
Sane is desperate to move to the Etihad this summer, where he would link up with former Bayern Munich boss Guardiola.
The Germany international has repeatedly told Schalke he wants to leave, but it seems City will have to pay slightly more than the £42m originally quoted.
New Manchester City boss, Guardiola has already added winger Nolito and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to his senior squad, but also wants Everton defender John Stones to bolster the ranks ahead of the new season.
A deal for exciting Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus is also close, although the youngster will remain with current club Palmeiras until December at the earliest.
