Sensational singer, Queen Bey popularly known as Beyonce released the first visuals from her Lemonade visual-album on June 22nd, 2016 featuring our very own Nigerian body artist Laolu Senbanjo and tennis super star, Serena Williams on Youtube.
Today, June 24th will mark yet another mile stone in the life of Laolu as Grammy Museum in collaboration with BET International will be showcasing the artistic works of Senbanjo in their exhibit titled “Sounds of Africa ” in Los Angeles.
The video “Sorry ” by Beyonce which premired on HBO, displays Laolu’s “Sacred Art of the Ori “, is the song that infamously calls out “Becky with the good hair ” where alot of her fans thought her husband Jay Z, was cheating on her.
Talking about working with Beyonce, here is what the incredible 34 year old artist, Laolu had to say;
What I connect with about her is her thoroughness. I’m pretty much like that in a way; like a perfectionist. She’s the first person to get on the set and she’s the last person to leave. She’s doing everything repeatedly. She’s like you can’t afford not to be on your best. You can see she’s at her best, so everybody is working real hard around her. Everyone’s very charged when she’s there. Very charged. She’s awesome. When you see somebody at that level doing that, you’re like, ‘wow.’ I got back to New York super charged, extra energy. I know she’s super, super busy and yet, she commits so much to her craft .
Again, sharing his happiness on his work been showcased in one of world’s biggest museum, Senbanjo shared a photo on instagram and wrote ;
The only thing better than winning a Grammy is having your art in their museum.
Laolu who started up as a lawyer and later ventured into his dream career of painting, had his first major display on Limited Air Max by NIKE where the sneakers debuted month ago.
