Super Eagles star, Victor Moses will not be joining the Nigerian squad in the forthcoming World Cup 2018 qualifiers in Zambia on Sunday due to serious injury.
The Chelsea forward who played as a wing back for the club against Hull City with 2-0 win, pulled out the Nigerian team ahead of World Cup 2018 qualifiers after suffering hamstring injury.
Moses who made this known through his Twitter page, said:
“Buzzing with the win today, brilliant team performance and great 3 points. Our fans were amazing!.
Unfortunately I’m feeling my hamstring and so the club medical team will be reviewing me. Will be working hard to get fit asap #CFC.”
Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte who rates Moses as one of the club’s best players, assigned him a new role as a wing back after he won the man of the match award in his first start for Chelsea in three years.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain, Mikel John Obi has reassured Nigerian football fans that he and his team-mates are ready to face Zambia on Sunday for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
“I don’t know where the story about my being injured came from. I have no injury. All the other players and myself are fit and ready and we are determined to start the World Cup race on a winning note.”
