English Premiership champions, Chelsea are not out of the woods as their woes continued on Saturday with a 2-1 away defeat to West Ham.
The Jose Mourinho men were outclassed by The Hammers at the Roleyn Ground. Chelsea who were without injured right-back, Ivanovic, who has also been one of The Blues’ weakest links this season, started the match on a wrong foot conceding a 17th min Mauro Zarate goal.
The Blues were then reduced to 10-men following the sending-off of Nemanja Matic for a second bookable offence before half-time after a reckless tackle on Diafra Sakho.
Chelsea, who were also without manager Jose Mourinho as he was went to the stands for improper conduct at half-time, leveled scoring in the 56th min with a Gary Cahill goal from a Willian assist.
Substitute, Andy Carroll added salt to Chelsea’s wounds with a 79th min goal.
The defeat was Chelsea’s 5th in 10 EPL matches, as they are stuck on 15th spot on the log with 11 points.
