
Ondo State University of Medical Sciences has been formally recognised by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
A letter of recognition was presented to Governor Olusegun Mimiko yesterday by NUC’s executive secretary Prof. Julius Okojie, who praised the governor for establishing the nation’s first university of medical sciences.
Okojie also said NUC will send a team to assess the level of resources at the university before admission starts.
“I wish to congratulate the government of Ondo state for this establishment.
“With effect from April 22, the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences has been recognised by the National Universities Commission as the 40th state university and 139th university in Nigeria,” Prof. Okojie said.
