” Nigeria Had Neither Political Prisoners Nor Political Exile During My Administration” – Goodluck Jonathan (SEE)

Nigeria’s former president,  Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that during his administration Nigeria had neither political prisoners nor political exile and that in spite all the criticisms he received, he ensured freedom of speech and freedom after speech.

Goodluck who revealed this while talking  at the Annual Gala dinner of the Nigerian Lawyers Association in the US yesterday, October 30th, 2016, also said that ” not a single Nigerian was sent to prison because of anything they wrote or said about him.

He said:

“We gave institutions unlimited freedom and ensured that NBA and other professional institutions were devoid of any governmental influence.”


“We ensured that appointment to INEC was not based on any personal relationship.”

“I would like to see our political leaders work together irrespective of their parties for the unity and development of our country.”

“The sense of patriotism to put our country’s interest first influenced the ceitical decision I made as president of Nigeria.”
