Nigerian lady identified as Hauwa Ojeifo, has made Nigeria proud after she won the award for Generation Change at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The 2018 Generation Change Award category is the first edition in the history of MTV Europe Music Awards.
This makes Ojeifo the first person to receive the Generation Change Award. This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards was held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center, in Spain.
Sadly, the 26-year-old Hauwa who was selected as winner among four other nominees, could not make it to the show. She was unable to secure her Schengen visa from the Spanish embassy in Nigeria.
The other candidates for the award were 21-year-old Afghanistan, Sonita Alizadeh, 17-year-old Lebanese, Mohamad Aljounde, 20-year-old Briton, Ellen Jones, and an 18-year-old, Xiuhtezcatl Martinez.
It was gathered that the Generation Change Award aims to elevate and empower the fearless young people who are changing the world.
Meanwhile, Popular Nigerian Musician and Mavins First-lady, Tiwa Savage has just been awarded the Best African Act award at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards. The award show held on Sunday, November 4, at the Bilbao Exhibition Center in Spain.
