Owing to the lamentable problem of water and erratic power supply on the school campus, the management of the University of Ibadan, Monday, has asked the students of the institution to vacate the premises for two weeks, until the problems are fully addressed.
While confirming the development, the Director of Public Communications of the institution, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo, revealed that ”the management has asked the students to proceed on a two-week mid-semester break”.
Meanwhile, students of Independence Hall of the institution had, in the early hours of Monday, staged a protest, complaining they were facing hard time as a result of shortage of water and electricity on campus.
A student who spoke to this reporter said: ”We only have power in school for two hours. After that, it goes off for the second day. And I believe it is because of the fuel scarcity. It is a serious problem indeed”.
