At least one person has died in a supremacy battle between two rival cult groups at Ubima, the hometown of Minister of Transport, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
This comes on the heels of a threat from another gang to kill no fewer than 50 persons before next month.
It was gathered that the community has been under siege for the past six months, and its residents have been living in fear following activities of dreaded cult groups (Degbam and Iceland).
One of the gang members, Onyekeozuru, a.k.a Juju, was killed because of “anti-cult activities” as he reportedly left Degbam for the rival.
More than 10 suspected cultists, it was gathered. have lost their lives to the perpetual fracas between the groups.
“At the point he left Degbam to Iceland, he does not have the right to enter Degbam territory, but he was still coming to Degbam with the excuse that he was coming to the area to greet his in-law. They gave him another warning three days ago before they killed him,” a source told reporters.
