The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a suspect for allegedly stealing his boss’ SUV. The suspect, Daniel Usman, who works for a Chinese Construction Company in Ekiti State was apprehended by security operatives for stealing a Hyundia SUV belonging to his boss.
According to report, the driver had claimed to have been angered after feeling cheated by the unidentified boss.
The police in a statement said Usman confessed to driving the SUV from the company’s premises in Ado-Ekiti with the aim of selling it at Abuja before nemesis caught up with him.
The suspect claimed to have taken to the car theft plan following his aiding and abetting of his boss’ alleged company fraud only to be left uncompensated.
The Commissioner of Police of Ekiti State, Mr. Esosa Amadasun confirmed the incident and subsequent arrest.
“The driver said the idea of selling the jeep came to him as a last option when he demanded from his master N500, 000 to buy a small car but he gave him only N300,000 instead.
”That was why he was in Lagos with the car where he was offered N1m. He changed his mind to go to Abuja for a better offer before his arrest by our team near Jebba Bridge,” Amadasun said.
