Real Madrid Held By Rivals In City Derby

Real Madrid were today held in the Madrid derby against rivals, Atletico Madrid. The two teams settled for a 1-1 draw at the Vicente Calderón stadium.

Real Madrid who welcomed the return of star players, Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos, started the game on a strong foot with a 9th min goal from French striker, Karim Benzema. The Rafa Benitez squad looked determined to take the match to their hosts, despite a penalty from Antoine Griezmann, which was missed.

The visitors looked poised to win the derby but were shocked by a late equalizer in the 84th min of the encounter by substitute, Luciano Dario Vietto.

Diego Simeone’s men shared the spoils as Real moved up to second spot on the La Liga log, a point behind leaders, Villarreal.
