Real Madrid’s current manager Julen Lopetegui is now said to be on the verge of being fired at the club and Manchester United’s manager, Jose Mourinho has been suggested as Los Blancos’ first choice target.
Real Madrid chiefs were reported to be livid with the club’s Spanish La Liga defeat against Levante which made it four loses in five games for the reigning European champions.
And according to the report by Catalan Spanish reporter Josep Pedrerol, he says according to UK Sun that Real Madrid want Jose Mourinho and he could make a return to the Bernabeu.
He said: “If and when Lopetegui goes, Jose Mourinho is the man the Madrid directors want to replace him.”
Lopetegui has been finding it difficult since he took over managerial duties from Zinedine Zidane, with Real sitting seventh in La Liga.
Jose Mourinho who won the La Liga title with Real Madrid in 2012 before being sacked the following year is also not finding it easy this season at Manchester United.
There have also been reports and speculations that Manchester United chiefs are planning to sack him and bring in another manager to Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s ex coach Antonio Conte, Santiago Scolari and Arsene Wenger are also said to be among the favorites to take over from Julen Lopetegui at Real Madrid.
Meawhile, Real Madrid’s goalkeeper has made it clear that the Spanish giants are missing the services of Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo.
This comes after Los Blancos’ embarrassing defeat against Russian club CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
