Honestly, when people criticise Nollywood these days, they leave you short of words if you even attempt to defend them. This is because, it has become a norm that whatever is the rave of the moment is taken advantage of by nollywood to produce a movie and title it based on that subject matter, either relevant or irrelevant. Examples of such include movies like: ebola, akoto olokada (okada helmet), blackberry babes… and all sorts of silly titles.

Another funny thing they do is use the names of song titles, the magic word or phrase in hit songs; as movie titles and we will be looking at 10 of such movies.

Shall we….

Remember Terry G’s Akpako master….? Here’s what Nollywood did with it!

Fam, we can go on and on with this silliness but, my advise to Nollywood is: be creative with your titles and if you want to do comedy, there are cool ways of doing it. At least JENIFA will stand as a standard for this generation of producers.
