Multiple Grammy award-winning artiste, activist and U2‘s front man, Bono is currently in Nigeria for the ONE Campaign. The artiste whose non-governmental organization DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa) has helped to raise awareness on issues of its name, and influence government social policies in Africa, is in Nigeria to record a remix of the ONE Campaign’s One Strong Girl song.
The original song featured vocalists Waje (Nigeria), Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania), Arielle T (Gabon), Gabriela (Mozambique), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Selmor Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Judith Sephuma (South Africa), new talent Blessing Nwafor (South Africa) and Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde (Nigeria).
Bono‘s DATA helped to create ONE: The Campaign to Make Poverty History, an advocacy and campaigning organization dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease. And in early 2008, his DATA and ONE combined operations under the name ONE.
